Start with the busiest moment
The right marquee size depends on how you will use the space, not simply how many invitations you send. A seated wedding breakfast, a standing reception and an evening party create different demands. Write down the number of people you expect at each stage and identify the point when the most guests will be inside together.
Include children, entertainers and any suppliers who need a working position inside. If your evening guests arrive before dining furniture is cleared, the layout must accommodate both activities. Avoid relying on a quick changeover unless someone is responsible for carrying it out.
Draw the furniture before choosing the tent
List the tables, chairs, bar, dance floor and entertainment area you would like. Round tables and long banquet tables use space differently, so a useful brief describes your preferred arrangement as well as your guest count. Keep a separate list of optional features, such as a lounge corner or cake table.
Ask the team about a layout drawing for your event. Use the agreed drawing to check the complete arrangement with the team. A photograph can help communicate the atmosphere you want, but it cannot establish a safe capacity for your particular event.
Allow for the whole site
The roof dimensions are only part of the space you need. The team must assess the installation footprint, access and the proposed position on your site. Share photographs of the approach and any narrow gates before settling on a structure.
Think beyond the dining room: catering preparation, toilets, power and guest arrival routes need a place too. Keep those requirements in your brief so that the marquee is designed as part of the event rather than fitted into whatever space remains.
Send a brief that makes the answer useful
Send your date, postcode, maximum guest count, seated number, table preference and a simple list of everything you want inside. Mention whether the ceremony, meal and evening reception all need shelter.
Browse our marquee hire options, then use the quote builder to start a conversation. The final size and layout should be confirmed against your actual site and event plan.
